Chinese Minister visits UJ and the UJCI

On Friday 14 September 2018, China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Xu Nanping, visited the University of Johannesburg, where he was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Tshilidzi Marwala, as well as other UJ representatives.

The Minister’s visit to UJ took place in the course of a visit to South Africa to discuss science collaboration with the South African Government.

After a tour of the university, the Minister visited the UJCI, where he interacted with Wushu and Mandarin students, including students who attended the 2018 Summer Camp in China two months previously.

He was accompanied by representatives of the South African Department of Science and Technology as well as the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in South Africa. Read more
